Riverline Studio

Riverline Studio is a 24 track studio operating within the Orange Studios rehearsal studios complex in Maidstone. The studio employs a more old school method of recording whilst providing the option to employ modern day post production techniques once recording is complete. Recording is achieved via a Soundtracs 32 channel in line mixing desk on to a Fostex DV2424LV 24 track hard drive multitrack recorder. The Fostex is an extremely stable and reliable machine capable of operating at 44.1, 48 or 96kh. In general we use 48k and find this to be of excellent quality.

Whilst recordings can be played back through the desk and mixed using outboard processors, there is also the option to lift the files from the multitrack as Wav files so as to be transferred to DAW software such as ‘Pro Tools’, ‘Cubase’, ‘Logic Pro X’ etc....
Further editing can be carried out by our engineers or customers can simply load the files on to the DAW of their choice and complete projects at their home studios having benefited from laying down the initial tracks in the live room. We believe that these options provide the best of both worlds within the recording process enabling musicians to perform in a more natural studio environment as opposed to a spare bedroom or small office.
